San Francisco encompasses the entire peninsula of County of San Francisco. The city is considered the cultural, commercial and financial hub of Northern California.

With a huge city life, also comes sports and recreation. San Francisco is the home of three world series winners, the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors. The Bay to Breakers is we renowned running race to celebrate community spirit and has been held since 1912. The San Francisco Marathon also brings 21,000 participants a year.

Boating, sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing are among the popular activities on Bay Area , and the city maintains a yacht harbor in the Marina District. The St. Francis Yacht Club and Golden Gate Yacht Club are located in the Marina Harbor. Notable schools in the area include University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, UC Berkeley and the Academy of Art University.
